Turtlehead Chelone Oblique
Turtlehead is an unusual late summer and autumn plant, useful for gardens on heavy wet or clay soils, though it also grows happily in normal garden soil. The pink flowers, shaped like a tortoise head, cluster at the tip of the upright stems and are extremely weather-resistant. Use plants to extend the season of a herbaceous border, or between shrubs (it tolerates partial shade) they will also grow in wet or even boggy conditions. Team them with other late-flowering plants that enjoy similar growing conditions to make a colourful late-season cameo in a difficult site.
IMPORTANT
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out 30cm (12in) apart in full sun. Prefers a well drained soil.

How to Grow
Easy to Grow:
1. Select an area with full sun
2. Dig a hole 1-2” deep
3. Place the perennial in the hole
4. Space perennials 16 inches (40 cm) apart
5. Cover with soil and water thoroughly
Planting Tips:
Plant in groups of 2 or more, in well-drained soil. Perennial will benefit from a handful of compost added to the planting holes. Plants can be easily divided in the fall or early spring of next season. Until planting it's best to store product between 35 F and 60 F degrees.
