Ideal for GARDEN and CONTAINER PLANTING
The Allium ‘Nigrum’, a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce white flowers. This flower is sure to turn heads with its 4-inch wide globes of tightly packed white florets which sit at the top of a tall, thick, bare stem. Alliums prefer to be dry during their dormancy. These plants are rabbit, squirrel and deer resistant. The Nigrum has a bloom period of about 3 weeks and they bloom in late spring to early summer.
1. Select an area with full sun or semi-shade
2. Dig a hole 8 inches (20 cm) deep
3. Place the bulb in the hole, with pointed side up
4. Space bulbs 8 inches (20 cm) apart
5. Cover with soil and water thoroughly
Plant in groups of 3 or more, in well-drained soil. Bulbs will benefit from a handful of compost added to the planting holes.
