Narcissi Paperwhites Grow Kit

Ideal for CONTAINER PLANTING

Paperwhites in Pot Growing Instructions

Paperwhites are for indoor and easy to grow. Follow these steps and the fragrant flowers will bloom in 4 to 6 weeks (store in a dry place until planting).

1. Drop grow mix (coco disk) in container, slowly add 2.5 cups warm water (0.6 Liters). Stir the prepared mixture to aerate and drain if necessary.
2. Position the bulbs with the pointed ends up. Add the grow mix around each bulb so the pointed end is about ½ inches above the surface.
3. Keep at room temperature (21˚C / 70˚F), a bright location and soil needs to be kept slightly moist.
4. When the flowers bloom, keep out of direct sunlight to prolong the flowering period.

As the stem grows, turn the pot occasionally to prevent the stems from leaning toward the light. It may be necessary to support the stems and flowers so the plant will not topple.

Caution: Do not eat ornamental bulbs. Protect all surfaces from product as condensation, staining or scratching may occur.

    Paperwhites on Glass Growing Instructions:

Fill the glass with water to just below the bulb. Water should not touch the bottom of the bulb. Check the water level every week. Place glass in warm and light location, 21˚C / 70˚F. When the flowers bloom, keep out of direct sunlight to prolong the flowering period.

Caution: Do not eat ornamental bulbs. Protect all surfaces from product as condensation, staining or scratching may occur.

How to care for Paperwhites once they have bloomed?*

Once the Paperwhites have bloomed you can attempt to get them to bloom again the next fall or winter. However, it’s important to strictly follow the directions to give yourself the best chance to succeed. Once the Paperwhites have finished blooming, please cut off the flowers and stems until approximately 1/2’’ from the bulbs and be sure not to cut off the leaves. Place the plants (in a container) in a sunny window for the winter period so the leaves can gather light, photosynthesize and provide nourishment to the bulbs. Be sure the soil remains lightly moist. Fertilize the bulbs once during the winter with a half-strength application of all-purpose houseplant fertilizer. After the last chance of frost you can transplant the bulbs to your garden. Pick a well-drained location that has full sun for at least a few hours a day. Plant the bulbs 6’’ to 9’’ deep and approximately 3’’ to 5’’ apart. After you’ve done this, fertilize the bulbs again using a full-strength application of houseplant fertilizer. Allow the bulbs to develop stems and leaves. Paperwhite bulbs will not usually flower again in their second year, so we recommend to repeat this process each year until blooming occurs. It may take two or three more years for Paperwhites to bloom again. After this time, you may also attempt to force the bulbs to bloom again indoors.

*Please note that we do not guarantee that this product will bloom for a second time.
